Where do you play?

Games and activities are held at McDevitt Recreation Center, 3531 Scotts Lane in Philadelphia.

Does my child need soccer experience?

No. EFSA Soccer welcomes beginners as well as returning players. Activities and teams are organized with children’s ages and development in mind.

What equipment does my child need?

Players need shin guards and appropriate athletic shorts/pants. Balls and uniforms are provided. Cleats are optional.

What if it rains?

We play rain or shine. In the event of inclement weather (like lightning), we will post a banner alert on our website by 8:30am if soccer is cancelled. If there is no alert, we're out there! Dress accordingly for the field or watching from the sidelines.

When does the league play?

EFSA Soccer generally offers seasonal programming. Exact dates and times are posted before registration opens.

Historically, fall programming is offered on Saturday mornings and spring programming is offered on Sunday mornings, but this is subject to change.

Can I volunteer without coaching experience?

Yes! The league needs help both on and off the field, and many volunteer roles require no soccer experience. EFSA Soccer is also a safe and stress-free environment to try coaching for the first time. Coaches must provide volunteer clearances per the City of Philadelphia's Parks & Recreation policy.

How can I help on practice days without being a coach?

Before practice, set-up: Weekend help is needed to set-up the fields at 8:30am prior to the start of 9am practice. We position goals, hammer in corner flags, pump balls, and carry out equipment bags (balls, pinnies, cones) from the rec building closet.

End of practice, clean-up: We welcome help to move all goals to the perimeter fence. Or collect balls, pinnies, cones and corner flags. Filled equipment bags can be carried to the rec building closet (before the playground).

Is financial assistance available?

Yes. EFSA Soccer wants every interested child to be able to participate. Assistance requests are handled confidentially by league administrators on our Contact Us page.
